Pre-departure briefings by country are organised by the Study Abroad and Exchanges Office in March and May. These are compulsory and you must attend at the date and time given below.
2012/13 briefings are to be held as follows:

Please note that you will be required to sign in at these briefings and pick up a Study Abroad Approval Form, which will be stamped to prove that you have attended. Without this stamp you may not be able to go on your year abroad.
During the briefings you will receive all of the relevant information and mandatory paperwork that you must complete prior to the year abroad.
If you have a legitimate reason that you cannot attend the briefing then you must notify the study abroad office in writing prior to the event at studyabroad@bham.ac.uk (please note that sporting practises, rehearsals, part-time jobs, birthdays and dentist appointments do not constitute legitimate reasons).
